The Truth About Bertha Gifford: Jefferson County’s Alleged Serial Killer at the Turn of the Century

Saturday, June 9th from 3pm to 4pm at the Jefferson County Library – Northwest Branch (map).

S. Kay Murphy will answer questions and discuss the controversy surrounding the alleged crimes of her great-grandmother, Bertha Gifford, who was tried for murder in 1928. Also, learn about Bertha’s ties to Jefferson County and Morse Mill. Kay is the author of Tainted Legacy of Bertha Gifford: A Memoir.

There will be book signing opportunities immediately afterward.
